The Safari Stripe textile is hand loomed in rural India by skilled artisan weavers using traditional pedal-powered looms, shuttles, and manual techniques without the use of electricity. Each stage of the process—from preparing yarns and winding cones to starching fabrics and setting the loom—is completed within the artisan community. The weavers Mirth partners with are either independent entrepreneurs working from home looms or members of weaving revival initiatives and NGOs dedicated to preserving traditional textile practices.
